| Jim Harvey was born in Garelochhead, Scotland, in 1943 and started playing soccer at the age of eight. | ||
| His love for the game continued as Jim played for Maddiston United | ||
| until he was 20, and then continued for various clubs, including | ||
| Falkirk, as a semi-professional up to age 34. | ||
| From 1972 through 1976 Jim was a player coach for Grangemouth | ||
| United in Scotland. Immigrating to America with his wife Maureen, | ||
| and son James, in April of 1977, and settling in Somers Point. | ||
| It didn't take him long to get involved as he started the | ||
| Atlantic City Football Club, and joined the South Jersey | ||
| amateur soccer league. Playing in all divisions and moving to | ||
| the first division within five years, and winning the State cup | ||
| in 1984-85 season. | ||
| Jim has helped coached the youth of Somers Point and continues | ||
| to play today, for Winslow UK in the South Jersey Masters League. | ||
| In 1991 he joined the US Soccer Federation as a referee and was | ||
| awarded the referee of the year in 1994. | ||
| His dedication and commitment to the game earned him three state | ||
| cup finals at the College of New Jersey. He is also a founding | ||
| member of the ACCSOA referee as VP in 1992. |
