Congratulations to Gerry MacFarlane on his induction into the South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame on November 19, 2000.
Gerry MacFarlane came to the USA in 1967 at the age of
29. In 1968 he played for the Vineland German Eagles for
two years.He then transferred to the German American Kickers in
1971. While playing with the Kickers of Trenton, Gerry led his
team to the the State Cup Championship in 1971.
In 1972, Gerry was instrumental in starting soccer in Cape May
county, and served as president for three years.
In 1984 Gerry became the boy's soccer coach for Wildwood Catholic
High School, winning 10 Division II championships in the National League, 3 CAL championships, and the state championship
for Parochial B in 1998.
He was selected as South Jersey Soccer Coach of the Year in 1997.
He served as president of South Jersey Amateur Soccer League for
three years, and in his 17th season as coach of Wildwood Catholic, won his 200th game.
All this, and he sings too!
